South Africa is being celebrated all over France this year, for L’année de l’Afrique du Sud.

A few events that caught our eye:
Handspring puppet company are responsible for the lifesized horse puppets that have been wowing audiences in the stage adaptation of Warhorse. They bring Ouroboros (pictured), a love story between a dancer and a poet, to the Charleville Mézières marionette festival, and on tour around France.
Bridges, a joint photo exhibition by René-Paul Savignan et Andrew Tshabangu, exploring links between South Africa and La Réunion.
Musée Léon Dierx, 97 St Denis, till 15 September.
Then transferring to la Maison des Metallos in Paris in October.
There are a number of South African dance, music and theatre events featured in the Festival d’automne in Paris and its suburbs.
And the Centquatre in Paris is hosting “So Afrique du Sud!”, with street dance, musical theatre and exhibitions.
The FRAC Pays de Loire will have six South-African artists in residence throughout the autumn, with an exhibition of their work programmed from 18 November.
