39 steps – Paris and London

If you enjoyed the comic-strip adaptation of The 39 Steps in Easy Going this year, or if you just want to see a good comedy, don’t miss this! The novel, by John Buchan, one of the first spy adventures and it became a famous film in Alfred Hitchcock’s British period. Now, it’s a stage farce, that’s been playing to wildly enthusiastic audiences in London for eight years.
It ran in New York for three years, and it’s back on in French, in Paris until 6 September 2014. It’s an adaptation of the Hitchcock film and the entire show is played with just four actors. One to play the hero, Richard Hannay. One to play 3 women characters. And two who play another 100 or so characters – sometimes two at once. Literally! The staging is very clever and the whole thing is very high-paced and funny.
